Take a look at the latest poster – All welcome, mixed ages Friday 30th october 2015
June the 29th 2013 We took 11 members and three leaders to the annual EABGC Stubbers day at the well known outdoor activity centre near Upminster.
Following in the tradition of Massive party nights, we always have one at Halloween, and we had Beach Party last June – this time Jenny decided we would stage a Onesie party night,… well they used to be called Pyjama parties in my day ! With much enthusiasm from new Girl Lynsey the stage is set, and we have Red Noses to sell, posters done, and money is being raised for both comic Relief and the youth club.
Today , Saturday 9th March, saw two apparitions in the village accosting unsuspecting villagers and divesting them of their cash in return for a red nose. Ably assisted by Josh Fordham one of our oldest youth club members. See photos ! We collected £95.00 and Sainsbury’s gave us some pizzas for the party night.
Due to new volunteers, we need four per evening, we are opening three nights a week now, Friday from 7.30 until 10pm , Weds from 7pm until 9.30 and Tues from 7.00 pm until 9.30pm.
The youth club is open on Tuesdays from 7.00pm until 9.30 pm for years 7&8 and Fridays from 7.30 pm until 10.00pm for all ages. We are also open on Weds evenings from 7.30pm until 9.30 for al ages. Anyone age from 12 to 17 is welcome, you have to fill in a membership form on your first visit, and the fee is £5 . Membership is compulsory at £1 per visit. All the games are free, and there is a canteen selling soft drinks, snacks etc.

The Youth club is finally open and has been doing a brisk trade since the middle of May, with an official open evening on Monday 29th June. Many of our funders and helpers were there with family and despite the sweltering heat, everyone was impressed, and took advantage of the gorgeous buffet generously provided by Harrisons restaurant of Main Road.
Chairman Tony McKenna made a speech thanking all of those who had worked so hard, over the years, and the Ark 11 charity for their work, and of course those who donated cash, and the Essex Environment Trust, Essex Community Initiative Fund, and Hockley Parish Council who all sent representatives on the night. An Appeal was made for further funding towards air conditioning for one and floorcovering for another, but also for anyone who would volunteer to supervise one night a week or even just one night a fortnight, as we are only open open at present two nights a week.
Anyone who could not make it on the open evening is welcome to come along either Friday or Tues evenings to have a look and see what we have achieved.
